ESSENTIAL DRUG*	"The name of the drug, as it appears in the ARMI (2023) List."	"Drug name is defined at the molecule-form level, and, where relevant, molecule-form-strength. See Appendix A of ARMI (2023) Report.

*81 of the 86 drugs/ingredients are represented in this list. Five (5) drugs are not included: Continuous Renal Replacement Solution, Immune Globulins, Intralipid 20%, Surfactant, and Topical/Surface Alcohol Based Sanitizers are not represented in this list and may be added in future updates of this list." STATUS_09.09.24	"The shortage status (""Not in shortage"", ""In shortage""). Status is defined at the NDC-level and determined as of 09/09/24."	"Data downloaded, 9/9/2024. FDA defines a shortage at the molecule-dosage form level, and as such there may be drugs that contain NDCs in shortage and not in shortage. That is, FDA may determine that the injectable form of a drug is in shortage but not the oral form. In this case, the file will classify only those NDCs in the corresponding form to be in shortage. Additionally, the US FDA Drug Shortages dataset contains the NDCs that are currently in shortage, have recently been resolved as in shortage, or have been discontinued. Any NDCs labelled as currently in shortage in this dataset were labelled as ""In Shortage"" in the STATUS_09.09.24 column in the DATA tab. Any NDC labelled as ""Resolved"" or ""To Be Discontinued"" was labelled as ""Not in Shortage"" in the STATUS_09.09.24 column in the DATA tab. Any NDC that was contained in the US FDA National Drug Code Directory but NOT contained in the US FDA Drug Shortages was also labelled as ""Not In Shortage"" because the US FDA Drug Shortages dataset only contains NDCs that are currently in shortage, have recently been resolved as in shortage, or have been discontinued.
